Early Start
designed to introduce toddlers age 1.5-3.5 to tap, jazz
and ballet with a balance of play using colors, animals, opposites and
more. Plenty of activity with parent and teacher interaction for children
to explore dancing in a fun environment.
Preschool 1 and 2
designed to introduce your 3-5 year old preschooler to
tap, jazz and ballet with just the right balance of discipline and
silliness. Class is taught with a relaxed atmosphere to gradually
introduce your dancer to the expected behavior in a dance class.
Preschool 2 and 3
designed to introduce your 5 or 6 year old to tap, jazz and
ballet with just the right balance of discipline and silliness.
Class is designed for children who are aware and capable of appropriate
behavior in a structured class. The information delivered in this
class is similar to that in the Intro class, but in a manner appropriate for
a 6 year old and in an hour instead of an hour and a half. Class is
designed for children who are aware and capable of appropriate behavior in a
structured class.
Intro to Dance
designed to introduce your 7-13 year old to tap, jazz and
ballet. Class is very structured and appropriate behavior is expected.
Though class is very fun, students should not expect any playtime during the
hour and a half class. Families should assume that their dancer will
spend a minimum of 3 semesters in this class. Permission is required
to participate in this class if you do not fit the age requirements and will
only be granted to those that have mastered the age appropriate level first.
Permission required for all below leveled classes
Students should plan to be in each level for 2-3
years. Teachers will make all decisions regarding level changes.
In registering for these levels, you will be registering for all of the days
this class meets, NOT choosing between them.
Level 1
2 hours a week of class designed for beginner dancers. Class
focuses on proper basic technique in Ballet, Tap and Jazz
Level 2
4.5 hours a week of class designed for experienced beginners. Class
focuses on utilizing basic technique in Ballet, Tap and Jazz. At
this level dancers are introduced to a taste of a variety of other dance
forms.
Level 3
4.5 hours a week of class designed for advanced beginners. Class
focuses on mastering the use of basic technique in Ballet, Tap and Jazz
and learning the discipline it takes to succeed in any dance form.
Level 4
6 hours a week of class designed for beginner intermediate students.
Class focuses on proper intermediate technique in Ballet, Tap and Jazz.
Level 5
7.5 hours a week of class designed for intermediate students. Class
focuses on utilizing and performing their intermediate technique in
Ballet, Tap and Jazz and using this knowledge to begin to examine the ins
and outs of Modern Dance.
Level 6
9+ hours a week of class designed for the advanced intermediate student.
Students will focus on mastering their current technique and taking it one
step further in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Modern. Part of this schedule each
week is self designed, be it through private or semi private lessons or
additional classes. Students will work towards perfection in
movement and performance. Students will learn to take in a lot of
new information quickly and attempt to use it immediately.
Level 7
12+ hours a week of class and rehearsals designed for a dancer closing in
on advanced technique. Students will focus on perfection in
movement. They will be pushed to their limits and should expect this.
Students will be given a growth plan that if followed will make them a
more capable dancer.
Level 8
13.5+ hours a week of class and rehearsals designed for an advanced
dancer. Students will focus on perfection in performance. They
will be pushed to their limits and beyond. Students will be given a
growth plan and will be expected to follow it.
Other...
Students
should come to these classes expecting different ages and abilities.
The classes are fun and great exercise. Students need to be prepared
to be patient with themselves and others.
